Programs
The Belchertown Police Department is a full service, 24 hours per day, public safety operation. The department is responsive to citizens needs and has adopted a community policing philosophy of working in partnership with the community.
The Department issues all firearm licenses. Applications are available at the Police Department and are considered after a complete records check. Photo processing and fingerprinting is completed by the Department by appointment.

The EMS is a call service dispatched by the Belchertown Police Department communications center.

The members of Belchertown Police Department actively seek to enhance the quality of life for all residents by providing a proactive and professional level of services. We will utilize community-policing initiatives as the foundation of our quest to nurture trust and support by holding ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism. All individuals that we encounter in our pursuit of justice will be treated with equality, fairness, and respect. Our overall mission is to reinforce our partnership with the community to prevent crime, preserve order, and to protect the rights, lives and property of all.
