Programs
Emergency Services is a 24-hour psychiatric crisis program based in Northampton serving local communities. The program staff is master's level crisis clinicians representing many years of experience. We see children, adults and elders.

Services include:

-24-hour crisis phone line
-emergency face-to-face evaluations 24 hours a day
-level of care assessments including screening for inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse admissions
-evaluations for admission into the Crisis Stabilization and Respite Program
-mobile assessments -brief problem-focused intervention and follow-up
-referrals
-support to individuals in crisis
-consultation to community agencies Crisis Stabilization and Respite program is a community based alternative to inpatient hospital care assisting with crisis and transition.
-group program
-individualized treatment planning
-nursing care
-counseling -psychiatric consultation
-discharge planning
-outreach
The admission process into the Crisis Stabilization and Respite Program is through Emergency Services. Following a face-to-face evaluation, an individual may be admitted to a crisis stabilization bed if she/he is voluntary and meets admission criteria.
Accept most third party insurance coverage. No one is turned away due to inability to pay or lack of insurance.

Clients are eligible if they are:

-presenting a psychiatric crisis
-in need of intensive short-term treatment using crisis intervention techniques
-able to be safely managed in a community setting in which professional and paraprofessional staff are available at all times
-likely to be ready for a less restrictive setting in 3-5 days
