Community Planning

Purposes:

The ultimate goals of Strategic Community Planning are:
|
- To ensure that students have access to the
broadest possible array of education, employment & training, and
health & human service opportunities they need to successfully
pursue their goals and objectives.
|
- To establish protocols for interagency
collaboration and coordination of services to under educated or limited
English populations
|
- To ensure that adult basic education takes
its place as a key ingredient in every organization's, community's, and
region's plans to improve the quality of life.
|
The instrumental purpose of the Assets and Needs
Statement is to serve as the basis for Strategic Community Planning with
relevant and supportive partners.
- To account for the needs of all under-educated
and/or limited English proficient constituencies in the Greenfield/Montague,
Northampton/Amherst, Orange, and Ware communities.
- To document and build partnerships and
collaborations among organizations with an interest in and the potential
for supporting services to these populations.
- To document student access to the array of
education, employment & training, and health & human service
opportunities that so many of them need in order to successfully pursue
their goals and objectives.
- To document barriers and gaps in such services.
