GCC has campus facilities in Greenfield, Turners Falls and Orange in Franklin County and also in Northampton in Hampshire County.

The GCC Downtown campus is located right across the street from the Charboneau Learning Center of The Literacy Project. It's Orange facility is located in the same building as the the North Quabbin Adult Learning Center of The Literacy Project.

The Institute encourages a greater understanding of the history, traditions and culture of the Pioneer Valley, as well as current issues that will affect its future. The Institute acts as a sponsoring agency, working with individuals and groups to promote and coordinate activities centered around the Pioneer Valley.
