My sister is twenty-three years old and has a three and a half year old daughter. Her name is Zowie Alexis. She has Cornelia-De-Lange-Syndrome. She just learned how to walk last year! This year we hope that she will learn how to talk.

Zowie is one of a kind. She does the funniest things. One day we were helping my brother fix his bike chain, and when he cranked the pedal she just laughed her little heart out. It was so funny. When she laughs, it sounds like she's crying.

Zowie was born one month early at two pounds seven oz., then dropped to one pound three oz. When she cried it sounded like a newborn kitten.

My sister has a lot to deal with between bringing her to her specialist and giving her meds. It makes you feel sorry for her. But in the end she will pull through as a good mother.
