Career Readiness

What Career Readiness Can Help With

If you’ve completed your HiSET or GED – or you’re nearly there – and you’re thinking about what comes next, our Career Readiness support is here to help. These learning opportunities are designed for adults who want to enter the workforce with confidence. We’ll help you build the skills to find, apply for, and succeed in jobs – with support every step of the way.

Our Career Readiness support focuses on real-life goals. You’ll work on:

  • Career readiness skills – like writing a resume, filling out job applications, preparing for interviews, and communicating professionally
  • Workplace skills – like using email, understanding job expectations, reading schedules, and staying organized on the job
  • Digital skills – like using Microsoft Word, Google Docs, spreadsheets, Zoom, and other workplace software

Whether you’re planning to start a new job, train for a new career, or enter job training, these skills are designed to help you succeed.

Behind the scenes:

Opening Doors to New Opportunities

Together, we can make sure more adults don’t just earn a diploma – they build a future.

Your support helps adults move forward with confidence.

At The Literacy Project, we believe that finishing your GED or HiSET is just the beginning. Career Readiness gives adult learners the tools to take the next step – whether that’s landing a job or entering job training.

You can help someone achieve their goals.

Our programs offer guidance, coaching, and practical tools. Students practice real-world tasks like submitting online applications, navigating systems, or building resumes – all in a supportive, personalized setting.

Your organization can support career success.

We partner with employers and training programs to connect learners with opportunities that match their skills and dreams. Your support helps expand these connections and reach more adults ready to grow.

Help us share their success stories.

When adults take this next step, they gain more than skills. They gain access – to employment, to self-reliance, and to a future they choose.
