We are very excited to launch a new class this year, at the Easthampton Municipal Building!

Our Instructor Thane Thomsen will be teaching a class in all aspects of HiSET and GED preparation. Classes meet Tuesday and Friday mornings. Enrollment is open through April.

We’re adding classes in Easthampton to help make it easier for adults throughout the region to go back to school and advance their education. Support from Easthampton’s Mayor LaChapelle has been essential to this project. In her words, “I very purposefully invited [The Literacy Project] into City Hall to break down that barrier as part of who accesses public space,. If you really want to look at equity and diversity and make it not something of an add-on, but really embrace problems of barriers, then agencies like The Literacy Project need to have boots on the ground in municipal buildings.”

Our Easthampton classes were featured in the Daily Hampshire Gazette in January. You can read the article online here: https://www.gazettenet.com/Program-helping-adults-earn-GED-expands-to-Easthampton-53678999
